Known as a pivotal figure in Mexico’s underground queer scene, NINA NINA’s artistic voice bridges the vibrant Latin rhythms of her native Veracruz with the innovative landscapes of electronic leftfield music.

Playful and daring, she proposes eclectic and powerful performances, live-sets and DJ sets journey for the party-loving audiences.

As a rapper with LAS HIJAS DEL RAP (The Daughters of Rap), a notable hip hop collective based in the Yucatan Peninsula, NINA NINA contributes to a legacy recognized in the Yucatan History Encyclopedia. This collective is celebrated for its fusion of Latin and Caribbean rhythms, politically charged lyrics, and significant contributions to social struggles in their region. Their work focuses on the defense of nature, Mayan culture, inclusion, diversity, identity and joy. Since 2015, they have toured extensively across Mexico, Cuba, Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay, delivering concerts, workshops, and talks.

In addition to her musical endeavors, NINA NINA serves as the creative director of MANIFIESTACIONES, a platform dedicated to dance, music, and parties that champion pleasure and economic justice for women and queer artists. MANIFIESTACIONES creates opportunities for marginalized communities, promoting equity both on the dancefloor and beyond, with the motto: “one foot at the party, one foot at the protest.”

NINA NINA’s commitment to activism and education spans over a decade. She has taught and facilitated uncountable music, dance, performance, pleasure, and care workshops across Mexico and Latin America, fostering spaces of learning and reflection for women and LGBTQ+ communities, from villages to universities, NGO's and the streets.

In spring 2023, she was selected for FoundSound Nation’s OneBeat program, supported by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. This opportunity led to a music artist residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts and a tour across Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana with a diverse group of global musicians.

In 2024, she received a scholarship at The School for Poetic Computation, where she is currently exploring new intersections between arts, activism, and technology.

This summer, NINA NINA is touring with Las Hijas del Rap across the Yucatan Peninsula, Veracruz and Costa Rica; while working on her new EP “ODISEA”.
